Hello E.H.F.:

Assuming your numbers are correct in terms of 200,000,000 computer users currently out of a world population of 5 billion let me suggest the following: The market for computers is not quite the 5 billion people (forget for the moment businesses) your post implies. Out of that 5 billion people one has to carve out that portion of the human population which is unlikely to ever see, let alone own and use a computer. For example, aboriginal people in south america and australia are not likely to become big purchasers of pc's anytime soon. Neither are the starving masses in various parts of the world; neither are the winos and homeless in America and the rest of the world; neither are prison inmates (wipes out a big chunk of U.S. market); neither are the illiterate (there goes several hundred million more); neither are cave dwellers (no electricity to plug the thing into); neither are most rednecks (cuts into their mudwrestling watching time); neither are the following: environmentalists (computers too large a drain on Niagara Falls); hollywood stars (too vane); boat people and cuban baseball players (too busy bailing water). And finally, the single biggest reason why the world market for computers is somewhat less than 5 billion is: Pfizer's new anti-impotence drug has a side effect which includes sterilization and hence a decrease in the world population!
