Your are right about nothing for sure regarding Q2 results. We are here just for educated calculation and believe Eric's estimates are reasonable on every aspect.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate very much the work that you and Eric do in analysing past results and forecasting future results. It helps to put things in perspective. And it's especially helpful to me because it's not something I would do myself.

We each have our different methods of arriving at the conclusion that AAPL will beat estimates this Q. Eric is good at fundamentals. You're good at technicals. For me, it's a combination of things, including the experience of being in a Mac-heavy industry (the Web), the cumulative effect of all the daily news I read, plus what I learn from this thread.

Like you and Eric, my chips are on the table and I'm betting on Apple posting a big, big positive EPS surprise for Q2. If we each arrived at the same conclusion through different methods, so much the better.

p.s. While we're on the topic of betting, how about a gentlemen's bet on Q2 EPS. Whoever's closest gets SI bragging rights for a quarter ;). I'll say +68 cents (diluted). And I'll add some side-bets to that: I bet there won't be any pre-announcements, and I bet that revenue in Q2 is actually higher than Q1.
