I'm so glad you asked. What if we are ones and don't even know it? That's so embarrassing.
Seriously---(well-I'll give it a shot) I went to Jane's posts at Ask God to see what all this fuss is about. But I'm very unclear...she is terribly put out with all of you for some reason. And apparently thinks X is raising her children at an upside down altar. And that because we do an awful lot of irreverent joking around here, we bear the Mark of the Beast. At first this seems offensive, but I thought about it and realized that actually Jane herself has been led astray by the Dark Side in her Good Fight. All this energy and anger wasted on us-when the true evil runs rampant, unchecked. She has been successfully diverted by persiflage. Anyone who has bothered to know us realizes that we struggle daily with moral issues, that we do try to alleviate suffering, to raise our children with firm values, to give something back because we know we are blessed. At worst we are unwise, impudent, rude, sometimes cruel and selfish...but we are not evil. No more so than anyone at Ask God. Some of us are actually-though much more quietly- committed Christians. We're just accepting of the intellectual battle that wages constantly in the minds of anyone who is sincerely seeking truth--No God of mine would be threatened by such a quest, but would welcome it.
Now there-I went and got serious.
