In many cases I would agree with you, however, it is quite different when you are selling new technology to an industry that accepts change very slowly. Remember, most (appx 90%) have already installed electronic bingo systems and will not easily change, as they have now learned their existing system and most have contractual commitments. Bingo hall managers and charity operators are looking to the distributor to do the homework and tell them that this is the best system and we're here to back this up. When a company is looking to install a new computer system or software package, who are they likely to believe? The salesman that says I've done the research and this is the best product on the market, or the salesman that says that here is products one through five now take your pick. I am quite certain that if you will check around the country, you will find that the distributors that have done the best have been those that are committed to a particular product line. K & B has been successful over the past 1 1/2 years being committed to the Fortunet product and placed systems in between 25 - 30 bingo facilities. Recently they have diversified their product offerings, but Fortunet has been their primary success. Fortunet has an integrated fixed unit and handheld system.
