Your logic (uncertainty during new millenium) sounds quite logical to me. Europe's conversion to the Euro could also cause an increase in demand for gold, if the transition doesn't go so smoothly.

I wonder, what is the average production price of gold approximately last year for the industry as a whole? Certainly, the supply will shrink at these levels, and certainly the supply will shrink as the price of gold drops below the average production prices. So, the eventual decrease in supply should keep the price of gold from dropping much further and should eventually raise the market price.

My concern is mirrors your, "Will EB be able to weather the storm?"
