Pankaj, IMO, the best two introductory books on TA are: 'Technical Analysis of Stock Trends' by Edwards and MaGee 'Trading for a Living' by Alexander Elder These will answer all of your questions about charts, terms, and indicators. As for TA software, there are thousands of available packages. Before purchasing any of them, consult the free on-line charting pages first. Here are two: bigcharts.com and iqc.com Once you become familiar with all of this (and assuming you find it useful), then you might consider purchasing a software charting package (on a free trial basis!).
