Don't expect to capture the dividend without
taking the appropriate hit in the stock. I
beleive the terminology is "dividend paid
to share holders of record on x date" and on
that date the stocks goes down. There are
probably traders out there that take advantage
of dividend plays, but I would imagine that
everything happens pretty much instantaneously.

But don't take my word for it--I probably know
less than I think I do. So...if you really want
to know about dividend plays, you might ask your
question on the tax thread or the one of the
trading-for-newbies threads.

One thing I have learned, it is very hard to
outsmart the market--don't expect to do anything
tricky and make money, somebody always gets there
first.
