Rather late entry, and conservative EDP managers. These things take time. Sotfware vendors who *have* despite all, ported to IRIX/SGI are usually impressed. The hard part is getting them to port.

Oh, yes, and SGI's been outmarketed by Sun (which is obvious from the above quote. I've used both Solaris and IRIX machines, and that's not my opinion; but it is the opinion of most people who know *only* Solaris -- for now).
