Good morning! If Ignacio will permit my interpretation-
Ignacio Spain (a little play on Patricia Ireland, I believe) was making a somewhat dubious comparison between Clinton and Prometheus, the Titan who stole fire from the gods to give to man. Zeus had forbidden this and, not being very tolerant about disobedience, overreacted and tied Prometheus to a rock where every day the vultures ate his liver, and every night he grew a new one. Nasty.
Another story involving Prometheus' punishment (sometimes interpreted as a reward) is that Zeus sent woman in the form of Pandora, beautiful but not too bright, who let loose all those noxious things from the infamous box.
Believing Clinton to be a Titan beset by vultures for some noble act on behalf of mankind is a stretch for me. And I wonder what wondrous gift from the gods he stole and we are too dumb to see. But that's politics. I prefer mythology.
Now that I reflect on it, Prometheus was a bit precipitous in his actions, not always thinking about consequences. Once when Zeus had a headache, Prometheus said he knew how to fix it and he smacked Zeus upside the head with a rock. Out jumped Athena, who luckily was beautiful and just what Zeus wanted, but you know, that really could have backfired.
