....which rumour ? If it's the MPD/HP-Avantek alliance. I've heard that Lucent is not involved but that MPD's initial IPO venture guys are going to put together another round of stock to buy HP/Avantek. That's going to be a hard sell if it's MPD stock but maybe it'll be a cash transaction. ,RFJock
