Device Bay has been changed from "required" to "recommended".

Ack! That bodes ill for the appearance of an "EZPC" any time soon. I was really hoping this would happen, and sooner the better. Even an engineer nerd like myself does NOT enjoy having to pull apart the goddam box everytime I want to swap a board or module.

What has USB done for you lately?

Nothing.

Interestingly, just about the only product I have seen available on either of these new device interfaces (USB and 1394) are video products. Little "hobby" videoconferencing cameras for USB, and video downlinking via 1394 on Sony digital camcorders.

Thinking about USB, the problem there is that it offers a set advantages everyone would LIKE to have, but no one is really willing to pay much for. Right now it is just way too expensive.

Yes. Look at these nasty things on my motherboard ... ISA slots ...

God bless,
