CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 1998--As part of a plan to offer a total data mining solution, Oracle Corp. ORCL has chosen SPSS Inc. SPSS to join a select group of data mining partners in the Oracle Warehouse Initiative (WTI) joint marketing and product development program. This is the first group of Oracle data mining alliances to be formally announced and is based on a qualification program designed to ensure customers are offered the market's best data mining solutions.
According to a recent META Group report, SPSS is the data mining market leader with a 30% share. Employing open, best-of-breed solutions, SPSS products are suitable for all levels of analytical needs. At the end of March 1998 SPSS will ship AnswerTree, a multi-algorithm decision tree tool, which will extend the reach of the already robust SPSS data mining product line.

--Industry focus - Selected members provide a wide-range of industry specialization.
