As I watch the documentary "Revenge of the Nerds" and listen to all of the tech gods talking about how many awesome things they will be bringing into our homes, one continuing question kept coming to mind: HOW? How given the ancient local copper phone networks are they gonna' get that amount of required bandwidth to my desktop? xDSL will very likely answer some of this question w/ download speed up to 6.5 mbps and upload at 1.5 mbps over existing copper. Other technologies are on the horizon...but until the bandwidth issue is resolved very little of this technology will truly be brought into our homes.
