"The company that doesn't innovate" That's right, they don't. Although the article didn't use the phrase, what it is talking about is called Multi Protocol Over ATM or MPOA. This has been around for a while, with Newbridge Networks (NN) being the technological leader. NN has been shipping MPOA products to the teleco's for quite some time. Don't get me wrong. I'm a strong supporter of CSCO and am very long in my portfolio, but they aren't known for innovation in recent years. CSCO uses the PacMan strategy, buying small innovative companies and integrating their people and technology into the larger company. They have been very successful at this difficult task. I admire them for doing it so well.
