Global* Coverage:

As I understand it, since there are no inter-satellite links in the G* system, there must be a earth base station in view for a call to be completed. Out in the middle of the Pacific, or in the Southern Ocean, there are large areas of just seas, and very few islands. Is G* going to provide coverage there? The birds will fly over, but will there be a base station within view? From what I can see, there won't, as the footprint of a single satellite is too small and the area of coverage too big.
