Lucent also has ATM switches. Besides there are cheaper ATM companies around like FORE, YURI. LU does not need to buy ASND to get its hands on ATM switches. I don't believe ASND is ever going to see the 50's again takeover or no takeover. There is too much competition in their core markets and they do not have much presence in the traditional areas of networking like routers/switches. Anindo
