Agencies underestimated cost of fixing Year 2000 problem

WASHINGTON -- The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) now estimates the
federal government will have to pay almost $4.7 billion to fix the Year 2000 computer glitch.
That figure is up 100 percent from what the government estimated a year ago.
