Dan, you have it all backwards. Microsoft does not have a monopoly in
many key areas like web servers, transactioning, real-time, etc. It
has exactly a zero installed base to leverage in areas where mainframe
computers are king.

You have been suckered by the Java proponents into this anti-microsoft
campaign because Sun, IBM, and Netscape want you to believe their
vision of "open standards" is good for the industry.

Don't be fooled by their agenda. Netscape was the worst offender of
HTML extensions. Corba has been a politician's dream. Now Enterprise
Java beans is the same mish mash of compromises made by competing
vendors who are more interested in haggling than delivering solutions.

Why do you love to bash Gates so much? At least he and his bum
buddies do some constructive things like write a column in the new
york times about technology, wrote a book called "The Road Ahead", has
his own website, etc.

What does McNealy do besides make jokes about Microsoft? Or Ellison?
