H&Q does not "love" Iomega-Todd Bakar has a "buy" rating on the stock, NOT a strong buy. [Todd's #1 pick is SystemSoft on which he has a strong buy-I own shares in SYSF, NOT IOMG] It is my broker at H&Q who loves this stock. He has a long-term view though. He does not believe in technical analysis and he is unconcerned with daily gyrations which do not alter the future of the company. He does not know how much of the stock the H&Q trading desk controls (somebody asked me that) and he does not care about that. In reality, there are so many MM's and outstanding shares that H&Q could not materially affect the share price except maybe in the short-run. Why has H&Q lowered estimates-simple, business is slowing down in Europe and they offered rebates on the Zip to spur demand. But ask yourself this-does it matter? Bakar had a 6 cent EPS estimate for the quarter and they came out a 9 cents. Todd Bakar does not "know" for sure what the earnings will be--he only forecasts. Of course, my broker could be wrong and if you are a day trader don't listen to his advice at all. He looks at IOMG as a LONG-TERM INVESTMENT ONLY.
