Brian - Re: "the latest report dated 23 march states that AMD's shares of Feb PC unit sales was 32.8% that leaves Intel's february unit sales at 63.8% since"

Do the numbers, Brian - the REAL NUMBERS!

The total CPU volume per quarter (I'll use Q497) was 21 million for Intel, 1.5 million for AMD and about 1.5 million for Cyrix.

That's a total of 24 million per quarter - or 8 million per month.

Now, you claim AMD had 32.8% of ALL sales in February. That would be 2.56 MILLION K6's in ONE MONTH!

The numbers don't make any sense! AMD is having shortages and you claim they are shipping 2.56 million per month!

And those K6's would have had to have been shipped last DECEMBER or EARLY JANUARY in order for PC manufacturers to build PCs and ship to their distributors who would ship to their customers!

And didn't AMD withdraw from all analyst meetings in January then announce upcoming SUBSTANTIAL LOSSES and File for sale of bonds and stock to raise capital?

How do all these developments add up to AMD shipping 2.56 MILLION K6's in the month of December (97) or January (98) when AMD could only ship 1.5 million K6's in ALL OF Q497?

You believe any old baloney that comes rolling down the road!

Those baloney numbers are estimates of RETAIL sales, some small fraction of all PC sales.
