From 3/24/98 NYT: On Tuesday, Sun will announce that Ericcson, the Swedish telecommunications giant, will license Java for use in cellular telephones, according to people privy to the negotiations. And it is also close to a licensing agreement with the consumer electronics giant Sony Corp., said an industry executive with knowledge of talks between the two companies. Executives at Sun and Sony confirmed Monday that there had been talks about licensing, but neither company would comment on the timing of an announcement. Get the full story from their website.
