Paul,

First of all, I expect the 233Mhz K6 Classic to blow the socks off of the 266Mhz Celeron. However, since the majority of consumers only look at MHz and features, they will not care too much about real performance. So I suspect that AMD will be forced to position the 266Mhz K6 Classic against the 266Mhz Celeron. And then there's the Socket 7 vs Slot 1 issue. Major cost savings on Socket 7 motherboards. So even if AMD maintains pricing parity with Celeron ($155), systems based on the K6 classic will offer a much better price/performance ratio.
