Well, can't say I'm with you on your short:) however, usually when they open a stock down, its a bullish sign. What disturbs me is that they raised the price soon after dropping it, about 1 mill. shares traded when down.

When you short or margin a stock, the specialist or MM's has it in their "books", they know how many are shorting and if there are more shorts than margins they will raise the price to scare those people into covering and thereby unloading the speicalist of MM's shares.
