I don't know what assumptions you used to project a big positive earnings surprise for apple next quarter. From what I'm told by people in major retail outlets for Macs, Apple has a serious--very serious--inventory problem. Apple's main business is still selling computers in boxes, and at current prices they just aren't selling. To unload the inventory, Apple will have to cut prices steeply and absorb a loss, and is likely to do so starting in the next Q statement.

Do you know when Apple announces announces next Q earnings? We should be able to tell who is right by the trend in prices starting about 10 days beforehand.
