there is no reason to trash intel, you are right. My posts were mainly directed to Paul and his intolerance for a different opinion. And even that as a joke with maybe a bit of sarcasm.
If you are interested in my justification of not liking intel as investment then it is simple:
if you look at last year expectation of growth for intel stock when intel was about at the current level per share you will see that the expected growth and revenue per share were substantially higher than they are right bow. I think revenue went up from 20B to 27B but the number of shares doubled because of the split. I believe margins were higher as well and competition was at its infancy without any major support.
1)Now we support from major vendors for amd, cyrx and idti.
2)intel is going proprietory which is going to upset a lot chipset/m-board makers
3)margins are going down
4)revenues are not growing
etc, etc, etc

so relative to the last year there is no justification why intel would not go down in price per share since then. Yet the value of the stock doubled since then.

I do have to admit that I felt that the stock is overpriced even then and I still feel that it was. But even if it was not it still does not look good for intel. And I do not see any upcoming event that might change it. If Merced would change it then you would have to wait for long while until merced would be in desktops.....
