3Com Rises on Latest Information on PC Industry
The Motley Fool - March 24, 1998 12:20

March 24, 1998/FOOLWIRE/ -- 3Com Corp. (Nasdaq: COMS) rose $1 1/2
to $36 5/8 as the maker of modems, network interface cards, and
networking products benefited from the latest discussion on personal
computer peripherals from data storage products maker Quantum Corp.
(Nasdaq:QNTM). Quantum reported disappointing demand for its fourth
quarter, but at this point, discussions about coming quarters are
weighing more heavily in the pricing of companies that serve the PC
industry.

I know whenever a stock rises, reporters like to attribute it
to some piece of news. These fools seem to have gone a bit overboard,
don't you think? Perhaps if I had a jester's hat and a lobotomy.....
