To the "thread,"
HPPOLK has done a more than adequate job of summing up the conference call, which I would categorize as not very surprising in scope or news.
However, if I might add but one thing to Mr. Polk's commentary, it should be noted that management indicated that its investment in systems is starting to pay off. For starters, we will have the first quarter numbers by the end of April, rather than mid-May, which had been the case up until now.
While that doesn't sound particularly important on its face, it is *very* important from the standpoint of management having more timely information upon which to run the business. Hopefully, having better management systems in place will minimize the risks to shareholders of "out of control" operations like those which Simula was attempting to control in the third quarter of 1997.
Thanks for the accurate update of the call, Mr. Polk. You saved my tired fingers *lots* of keystrokes. <G>
Have a good day. |
