"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."
The Holy Spirit is telling us here that all of the holy dreams of the men of faith in ancient Israel, all of the promises, all of the prophecies, all of the hope are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In verse 19 he says it was "not yea and nay, but in him was yea". Not maybe yes all is fulfilled in Jesus or maybe no, but absolutely YES, all was fulfilled in Jesus.
For those who have experienced the Kingdom promises of Christ through His death, Resurrection and giving of the Holy Spirit, this is elementary and fundamental Christiantiy. For those who have not, they must wrestle with the carnal elements of the Old Coveanant to give meaning to a mental religion that has not fully formed in their hearts yet.
Jesus has done all things perfectly when He established His Kingdom.
He forgave the sins of mankind, recreated their human spirit by giving them a new birth and then filled them with His Holy Spirit as a comforter and teacher. That is His HOly Church and Body--the Kingdom of God. There will never be anything greater for man until he receives the fullness in his resurrected body and sees Jesus face to face in worship and adoration.
The sad part of all this is that we must spend so much time exposing heretical and false teachings rather than spend our time praying and helping one another understand and appropriate all the promises that came with our salvation---
