Big item in today's New York Times about SUNW! Whoopee! Does anyone know when us commoners can buy a a Java ring? Scott has been wearing one. And he is going to give one free to each person who attends a conference.

The ring contains a small eight-bit microprocessor and some computer memory! Think it would be cool just to have the ring. I do not need the microprocessor for email and ID.

The New York Times article also mentioned that "HWP said it was not their intention to break apart the alliance that Sun created around the concept of software that can run on many different types of computers over the internet."

You all probably already know this but I was pleased to learn that there are now four Java environments.

"In addition to the original version for(1) personal computers, servers and workstations, the company has developed a (2)Personal Java system for the consumer electronics products with screens,(3) an embedded version of Java,(4) and a Java "card" for very small consumer and industrial applications.

Sun also recently purchased all the Virtual Reality patents from VPL, a company that went bust.

Does anyone know when SUNW will bring out their PC with UNIX operating system? I hope SUNW still has plans to bring out this PC because we will buy one, probably.

At last, I think SUNW is on track!!!!!
