Lycos Teams with New Line Cinema to Host Lost in Space Web site,
World's Largest Online Movie Promotion

Online Promotion Includes Lycos' Exclusive Search, Prominent Branding on
www.dangerwillrobinson.com

WALTHAM, Mass.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 24, 1998-- Lycos, Inc. -- ''Your Personal Internet Guide'' --
today announced an exclusive agreement with New Line Cinema to host the Lost in Space Web site, the largest-ever online
promotion of a movie title. Through the agreement, Lycos receives prominent branding on the site, exclusive World Wide Web
search, and sweepstakes giveaways to promote the site through www.lycos.com. Lost in Space is set to open in movie theaters
nation wide on April 3rd.

Located at www.dangerwillrobinson.com, the Lost in Space Web site, which incorporates cutting-edge technologies in content,
animation and sound for a rich, visually compelling interactive experience is already receiving more than 250,000 hits per day.
The site is expected to garner significantly more visitors due to a fully-integrated promotional campaign by Lycos, one of the
most highly trafficked sites on the Web, ever-increasing content and New Line's comprehensive advertising and promotion
campaigns for the Lost in Space movie and Web site.

''Lycos has been an invaluable contributor by providing a natural search context for the Lost In Space Web site and creating a
rich, educational online experience,'' said Gordon Paddison, Director of Interactive Marketing at New Line. ''In addition, the
exposure throughout Lycos' site which reaches its millions of daily Internet users is an important contribution to the success of
Lost in Space.''

Lycos, whose tag-line is ''Get Lycos or get lost,'' teamed with New Line to increase traffic to the Lycos Web site and reinforce
its brand among consumers both online and off-line. Toward this effort, Lycos hosts www.dangerwillrobinson.com, providing
back-end support for the site and integrating its proprietary search technology to enable users to search the World Wide Web
for pictures and sounds, personal home pages or news and entertainment stories about Lost in Space.

''Aligning with New Line for Lost in Space was a natural fit for us,'' said Jan Horsfall, Vice President of Marketing at Lycos,
Inc. ''Not only will our efforts reward us in terms of tremendous consumer reach, and online and off-line branding opportunities,
but we are also very proud to be part of what will likely go down in the record books as a milestone for the Web's importance
as a consumer medium in promoting movie titles.''

Lost in Space Web Site Charters New Territories

The official Lost in Space Web site is the largest and most in-depth site ever associated with a feature film. It is seen by many
industry insiders as the most technically advanced film promotional Web site to date. The site incorporates interactive and
educational content based on the movie including its stars, the Robinson family, the robot and the Jupiter2 space ship. The Web
site features include:

Create Your Own Planet -- This portion allows visitors to design their own planet, which can help or hinder the journey
of the Robinson family. This interactive online CD-ROM style game instills scientific knowledge and challenges the most
advanced player. This program is edutainment that allows the creation and construction of a planet and gives a constant
''Survival and Life Expectancy Update'' for the Robinson family. Users have total control in designing their planet. The
location, galaxy, structure and atmosphere of the planet are just a few choices. After completion users can revisit their
planet at any time and they will also receive e-mail messages from the Robinson family.
Penny's World Captures Teen Angst and Emotion -- Penny's World is laid out like a teen magazine and follows Penny
Robinson's journeys through space. The segment contains Penny's video diaries from aboard the Jupiter 2. Visitors can
branch into different parts of Penny's diary and ask Penny questions. They can also see Penny's impressions of boys,
friends and fashion while browsing the various sections of her world.
Harmonic Planet -- The Harmonic Planet consists of a galaxy radiowave scanner and mixer. The scanner allows users to
hear transmissions that emit from space and learn about their composition and sources. The radiowave mixer also allows
users to make music with a drum and bass beat.
Science Planet -- This segment of the Web site is dedicated to science facts and explains the scientific theories behind the
futuristic elements in the script for the film. Rather than focusing on science fiction, this site allows users to gain practical
scientific knowledge.
Dr. Smith's Evil Asteroid -- This portion of the Web site is dedicated to the sinister Dr. Smith, the villain of Lost in
Space. Here, Dr. Smith gives tips on pay back and revenge and answers questions about sabotage, pranks and other
methods of being evil. Also included are a ''Destroy a Planet'' segment which allows users to blow up a planet right on
the screen, and the ''Galaxy of Evil'' showing what a blueprint of the galaxy would look like if Dr. Smith ruled the
universe.
Get The Robot! -- This feature showcases the Lost in Space robot as an interactive character that comes attached to
e-mail and jumps onto users' desktops like a screensaver, but without long download delays. The robot is fluidly
interactive and can be picked up, dropped, or knocked down. The robot will develop an active relationship with users by
responding to their actions and adapting his behavior. More importantly, the robot is instructable and can receive scripts
in the future that are delivered through e-mail or placed on a web page. Users who sign up for the robot will receive a
special newsletter, ''Interviews with the stars of Lost in Space'' which provides information on Lost in Space from the
stars of the film.
Hawaii, Space Camp and other prizes -- The Web site will offer a major contest with prizes including the ability to win
the Sun Microsystems Lost in Space Robot kiosk, a trip to Hawaii at Outrigger resorts, a trip to Space Camp, and other
Lost in Space merchandise.
