George Soros' view of markets is that one makes money by buying what the market is undervaluing. For socially conscious types, you can even make a case that the value of markets is to set the value of companies and commodities accurately. You and I make money on the the difference between real and perceived value.

So: a co. such as KLIC is solid, dominates its sector, has good management ... BUT ... the perception of stock market opinion makers is that this is just another volatile semi equip. maker completely dependent upon the demand for machines that make chips. Not true, do you think?

My view (and my Ph.D. is in English lit.) is that the technical analysts are the astrologers of the market. But they _are_ influential.

I am encouraged that the volume of KLIC seems to me to be rising (over the last couple of years). As a conceptual kind of guy, that may be just an impression.

Some of you more mathematical types can confirm or refute this, but more volume IMNSHO is good for solid cos. such as KLIC because there is a truer view on The Street that this is a co. to be reckoned with, beyond the tech-astrololger types.

I say buy. Now, if my electronic investment co's server weren't down, I'd put in an order at $20 and hope the market tanks tomorrow. (Disclaimer: I own blocks of KLIC at $24.50 and $26.50 and am not worried.)
