I suspect you mean Tandon as in Jugi Tandon who exited the drive business when he sold that division to Western-Digital. That was the beginning of W-Ds drive business actually. That was 9 years ago. Or ten?

Jugi Tandon went on later to found JTS which is still in the drive business but suffering and likely to be gone soon.
