There are of course the usual dangers inherent in the mawkish environs surrounding the spectacle of Mr. Chen and his congruent devotees awaiting some form of supreme manifestation to visit them . Self induced suicide is perhaps the greatest danger to the group as a whole. On the other hand, the juncture of the medium and the message is fully expressed in the perceived synaptic connection between the ethereal and the abasement of traditional non-technological discourse. This inter-play between the imagination of the 'grounded' and the accumulation of spontaneous signals from the incessant miasma present in the new information age combines to create a hybrid consciousness among those unable to distill form from functionality, and consciousness from fantasy. This is the greater danger facing society as it moves from sentient self awareness to an awareness continuously structured and restructured by a daily flow of fragmented and highly superfluous information.
