About 15 years ago, the Vancouver Stock Exchange began its market index at 1000. After one of the strongest bull markets in history this index has soared to.....616. This overstates the return earned by the average public investor. Well-connected con men tend to own these stocks when they rise, selling to the suckers who participate fully in the collapse. Also, when these stocks are delisted they are taken out of the index at the last VSE trade price, not the zero value the stocks have once the promoters have looted the till. Don't bother asking about earnings or dividends. There aren't any.
