Hey JFred, Speaking of big ones, you ever walked around the Sierra high country ? Every time I do or think about those incredible walls of granite, I try to envision just how than stuff all pushed up. I don't get an image of lil ol' 8 and 9 pointers doing all that stuff over the eons. I think of something truly massive and quick. Say about an 899 pointer. Kinda all at once.

So if the subduction off the coast here decides its time for a reprise and convert the lowly coastal hills into a Sierra West, I'm guessing it just might be cause enough for rocking and rolling down your way too. Course we'll be history.
