Derrivatives of the 90's are the 5% margin requirements of the 20's. There was an interesting article in Barrons last November by an analyst who calculated that if the market was to drop 20-30% in a very short time the Merrills and Goldmans etc. would be in the hole for $ 250B. But we all know that will never happen......again.
