As you know, Big corporations operate on a principle(not new to anyone)called "negotiate from a position of strength". There is nothing to be gained by Ford by "getting actively involved" and certainly something potentially to be lost. What I don't understand is why, if the technology is so incredible, one of these companies just doesn't go ahead and buy BAT via hostile takeover...that would certainly be a way to make certain that they don't have to compete with the technology(which would be the correct move for the long haul again assuming the technology IS as good as we think). If they owned it, they could also milk it for all it's worth by "controlling distribution".
