Doug,

From your posting I gather that you have done a fair amount of homework on your portfolio. I was doing some research on GreenTree Financial (GNT). According to the Wall Street Journal, GreenTree's CEO has the most generous compensation package in the USA: $65.1 million. The sweet compensation package includes a stock option of 2 million shares at $30.875 (today's price is $39 1/8) and a provision for personal use of a company plane.

My source is:
sec.gov

Isn't this a form of stock manipulation?
Isn't it obvious that the CEO will try as hard as he can to raise the price of the stock just to exercise his options at a favorable rate. What will happen then?

How would you feel if you owned 10,000 shares of GNT?

Does anybody *really* deserve this kind of compensation?

If the problem is that the board couldn't make an intelligent employment contract (a CEO is an employee after all) would you trust their ability to run a complex business like GreenTree?

Your thoughts or anybody else's thoughts will be appreciated.
