Gregg... re: "cognitive dissonance"

Well put. Looks like you've been reading Charlie Munger's excellent lectures on worldly wisdom that were published in Outstanding Investor Digest (OID). For those without access to OID, Munger attributes his success (and that of his partner Warren Buffett) to keeping a relatively small number of models in mind when trying to evaluate any problem or set of facts. The models are derived from many disciplines, ranging from genetics (evolution) to engineering (feedback loops). In the second half of the lecture published this month he talks at length about using the most important concepts in psychology, among them cognitive dissonance. Highly recommended reading in my opinion. -JLF
