Daewoo Electronics will set up TV research arm in U.S.

MARCH 25, 1998 - Daewoo Electronics will establish a U.S. research institute in Yuma, Ariz.,
with an investment of US$2 million for research and development of next-generation information
technology products, a company spokesman announced March 24.

The company plans to make further investments of US$10 million by 2000 in the Yuma TV
Research Institute for the development of multimedia TV, digital TV and other high-tech products.

In addition, the institute will monitor the trend of new technology and new products in the United
States, as well as conduct market surveys and studies on lifestyle and consumer behavior,
according to the official.
