Geophysical Survey on Windfall Lake Project

ALTO MINERALS INC. ("ATO-V")

NORONT RESOURCES LTD. ("NOT-V;NOSOF-L")

- Geophysical Survey on Windfall Lake Project

Gary F. Zak, President of Alto Minerals Inc. (the "Company") , and its joint venture partner Noront Resources Ltd., is pleased to announce that it has commenced a detailed geophysical survey on a 50 metre spacing on its Windfall Lake project in Urban Township, Quebec, in preparation of its phase three diamond drill program which will commence shortly and prior to spring break-up. The geophysical work is being carried out to define a potential east-west sulphide bearing trend. The Company is highly encouraged by the recent winter drill program which encountered near surface mineralization in a 600 metre wide zone and along a 250 meter strike length. The best intersection to date was in hole 9805 which returned 485.2g/t gold over 0.68 metres at a depth of 151.64 meters. This significant assay occurs in a 9.52 meter zone which averages 35.27g/t gold (uncut). This section can be correlated with a 10 meter section of the same geology which returned assays up to 19.2g/t gold in hole 97-3.

The gold is associated with pyrite in extensively altered felsic volcanics related to a rhyolite vent or dome. The sulphide mineralization primarily consisting of pyrite with minor chalcopyrite ranges from disseminated amounts to semi massive to massive stringers and bands and patches throughout the entire core length of all holes, and all carrying anomalous to significant gold values.

Due to the shallow dip to the south of the gold bearing stratigraphy the Windfall Lake project has indicated a potential to host a large open pit resource containing both gold and base metal mineralization.

Immediately south and adjacent to the Windfall property lies the 75 claim Alcane property, a 50/50 joint venture between the Company and Aurcana Corporation. The companies recently drilled a 231 meter hole to test a zinc soil anomaly. Anomalous gold values including 1.35g/t over 1.0 meter and 0.91g/t over 0.87 meters of mineralization were returned with significant base metal values of 2% zinc, 10 grams silver and anomalous copper over 0.64 meters. The hole encountered wide spread sulphide mineralization varying from 1% to 10% throughout, with a mixture of sections consisting of mafic, felsic volcanic quartz-eye tuffs and quartz feldspar porphyry. It appears the felsic mineralized contact continues from the northeastern Windfall zone trending southwest at approximately 60 degrees into the Alcane property over a length of approximately 500 meters. The silicified sericite (K2O) rich) and soda depleted zone encountered in 98-4 continues to the southwest and is regarded as highly encouraging.
