Also saw that Morgan went to Strong Buy, purely on price. At the same time Merrill Lynch, primary underwriter of the secondary back in July went from Buy to Neutral. Gary Fernandes, EDS Vice Chairman, was on CNBC after the close. He said he was puzzled by the selloff, called it a "knee jerk" reaction. Although he wouldn't be pinned down on 1st quarter '97 he said he expects EDS will continue to perform at or above the level of growth in outsourcing. Currently, the industry is growing around 15% per year. I expect some bigger investors will play a wait and see if EDS gets back on track in early '97 but others may see a bargain right now.
