Linda,

I've been there a few times. It was never the motherboard. Start by removing each of the installed cards one at a time and then trying to boot. Start with any cache card then modem then RAM. If you get to a point at which all the cards have been pulled and the computer still does not boot, see a circuit physician.

Beware of static. If you do not have a wrist strap: Do the extractions with your shoes off and mist the air in the room to raise humidity. It's also a good idea to leave the computer plugged in with the power off (of course). Touch the metal case first, before touching anything else. The 3rd prong on the power cord will drain any static.

Hope this helps.

Good luck,
HerbVic
