Hi Peter! I think that the IDT Yahoo announcement is referring to something that is of secondary interest to VocalTec, the transmission of person to person voice messages via what was once called called Internet Telephony which for a time was referred to as "the toy", and about which there was a lot of confusion. I imagine that what is mentioned about IDT Yahoo is a more sophisticated version of the same thing. VocalTec has also made vast improvements in this kind of transmission. I am under the impression that VocalTec's target is entirely different and is described in the following quote from ITXC in my post #1177: "ITXC and Delta 3 use VocalTec gateways." It is my understanding that VocalTec's primary target is not person to person communication but corporate enterprise, Fortune 500 and 1,000 companies, large commercial enterprises worldwide, something of a commercial nature using "gateways." Peter, there are many extremely knowledgeable contributors to SI. I hope someone will give you a better answer about the distinction to which If refer, if there is one. Kindest regards, Don
