We already have a couple of generic threads, don't we? One starts with the letter "T" and the other with "F." Well, they are sort of generic threads. I am always amused to see the occasional posts of the serious investors on those threads, notably that stockbroker. Remember him?
Come to think of it, maybe it is time to start a truly generic thread, say for a mining company in Canada or perhaps with headquarters in Florida. I'm game. We could make book on how long it would take our new and improved generic thread to find it's way to the top of the SI Hot Subjects roster.
BTW, I see by the rate of accumulation in posting numbers, the four millionth post may not occur until after April 1. It is probably impossible to factor for slow servers, flaky ISPs, the vagueries of Mae East and Mae West, God's visit to Dallas, and other such randomness.
