Where have you been? Intel has been playing the "King of the Hill" games for a long time. It's been about a year since the refrigerated Pentium II-400. Now it's reality...I remember everyone laughing at
it last year on the AMD thread...
Recently Intel showed off a Pentium II running at 700MHZ...once again cooled by an air conditioner. I don't see anyone laughing at it now. I wonder why? SO maybe in a year or so we will see a production model. All this is great PR, that you get the biggest and baddest from Intel.
If AMD used the same strategy they would be displaying refrigerated K6s running at 700 mhz...but they can't even get good yields at 266 much less 300 or 400. Intel knows it and capitalizes on the high MHz game.
