While the big car corporations know that they will have to move towards energy efficiency sometime in the next however many years there is currently minimal legislative or customer pressure to do this now. Especially with oil prices still being relatively low even with the production cutbacks that are going to happen. For that reason the big three have no incentive to do anything more than eyeball some of these new technologies and innovations. At least BAAT is getting some attention and that has to be good for the future.
