"You make God sound like an insecure ruler of a petty fiefdom in the middle ages. I would reject any God who feels that way."

That is precisely the god what several on this thread. There God is indeed a petty tribal God who is only concerned for Jewish people and the geography of Palestine. There whole being is focused the antichrist and worldly nation of Israel. They are blind to the workings of God. There is a veil over their hearts that has closed the meaning of the Old Testament and the New to them. The spiritual meaning of much of the Bible is foreign to them. The Prophets are read with a carnal mind. The shadows and figures that the Holy Spirit uses in the bible are lost on a frozen mind. There carnal mind and carnal emotions guide their thoughts.

When the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob came to the earth and showed Himself to be a God who loved all of mankind, who was ready to die for all of mankind, who cleansed the sins of all who would receive Him, He opened His arms to all and an invited all through the power of the Holy Spirit with the words "COME unto me all that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest". His salvation in Jesus is perfect. He cleanses our sins, restores our fallen nature and gives us the Holy Spirit. WHAT MORE CAN HE DO. This is not a petty God but a God of universal love and compassion who healed the fatal sin-sickness of mankind. This is the Kingdom of God promised to Israel and to all of mankind through the Prophets of Israel.

When you turn from this salvation, there is no other. There is only the darkness and death of one's own sin.
