THE UNITED STATES BASKETBALL LEAGUE TO HOLD 13TH ANNUAL DRAFT LIVE OVER THE
INTERNET AT: WWW.USBL.COM
MILFORD, CT -- The United States Basketball League (USBL) announced that they will, once again, broadcast their Annual Draft on Wednesday April 8th, live over the Internet via their web site (http://www.usbl.com).
Last year the USBL held their Draft Live and it was very well received. With the help of Fishman Communications of Westville, Connecticut, the League will post selection-by-selection results of the Draft. The Draft will be held via teleconference call which will disseminate from the League Headquarters in
Milford, Connecticut. Each of the twelve USBL teams will conduct thei selections in their respective franchise cities. The Draft will begin shortly after 12:00 PM EST and will consist of eight rounds of selections.
People who wish to follow the Draft as it unfolds, simply need to log into usbl.com. The USBL.COM site will feature a special bulletin board section on draft day, for fans to exchange their thoughts and knowledge about the picks made by various teams.
"We had tremendous success with running the Draft on the Internet last year, so we are obviously pleased to be doing it again in 1998" said Commissioner, Daniel T. Meisenheimer, III. "Since we hold our Draft via teleconference
call, fans and followers of our League have been unable to follow along with the selections as they happen. Having it broadcast live on the Internet will allow people to become a part of the Draft as it develops. We are very excited about this unique approach and we are looking forward to April 8th."
The United States Basketball League will begin play on Friday, May 1st. Over the last 12 seasons the USBL has graduated 114 players on to the NBA. Among this grouping of players is Muggsy Bogues, Chris Childs, Mario Elie, Anthony
Mason and Charlie Ward. The USBL is the first and only publicly traded Sports League allowing fans to
