IDTI only owns a small piece of QED as I understand it. This is a bit of a blow to IDTI because they pioneered the use of QED designed MIPs parts in the WebTV box. I hope that the QED relationship is the last that we see in which IDTI helps to create their own worse competitor. GI is a big win because they have great influence in establishing standards, defacto or official, in the industry. IDTI should be very much in the game to get new business but having QED as a fabless competitor does not help.
